When Mary Virginia Harper contacted me about photographing all of her wedding festivities, I was so thrilled and honored! Mary Virginia has been an absolutely sweetheart since the first day I met her in high school, and it was so wonderful capturing her laughing and snuggling up to her fiancé, Langston McElroy, who is a complete gentleman by the way! Mary Virginia and Langston brought their own warmth and sunshine to a completely cloudy day, and they definitely kept me laughing! We started off their engagement session atop the marble staircase at the Alabama State Capitol, and we even ventured out to the middle of Dexter Avenue for some fun photos.

Next, we headed to the edge of Shakespeare Park, where the tall dark trees with bare branches created the perfect contrast against the hazy white smoke bombs. Mary Virginia and Langston were such troopers! Even when the smoke enveloped their faces, they managed to stay in the moment with each other, which resulted in these gorgeous, dreamy photos!
